yesterday i was at walmart with my mom and timothy. we found a kids book...i think it was called "what color is your underwear"....that right there pretty much says it all....it was not the kind of book i would hand to my 4 year old. so i guess it's good that i don't have a 4 year old of my own. you should ask me about the book sometime though...it was....special.

i'm sitting here listening to my old testament prof on my computer....getting ready for my finals.
last week was fun...lots of chrismas parties around campus and good times with friends. it's so weird to think that this is our last week here...
it's been fun though =)
and i should go finish studying....

"look, mom!"so we're hosting a worldview weekend today and tomorrow. and my mother told me i should go. and i did. and ken ham spoke, and we decided we'd like to meet him and take our picture with him. and cuz mel's cool like that and is good at making friends with people who used to be complete strangers, we did. so yep. and i talked to him about how my mom's a science teacher and she likes to play buddy davis cd's. so yeah, good times

so "elizabeth's slightly crazy" story of the week:
the other day i was sitting here at my desk and i got a phone call for me and kim about hosting a girl this weekend. kim was gone at supper or something so i almost asked if i could call the lady back after i had talked to kim, but i finally decided to just look at my schedule and told her we'd do it. and then after i hung up i decided to email kim and let her know...so i was going to do that, but a couple of minutes later i turned to see something and kim was sitting there!!! at her desk!!! she'd been there the whole time!!! it scared me a lot haha! it's not like it's a massive building....it's just a dorm room haha but i forgot she was there. good times....

my bible study went really well last night. i feel like the girls are getting really comfortable with each other and opening up and it's exciting to see God working!...

this post is dedicated to jen and kaitlin with whom i'm sitting here in kaitlin's room.....we're studying and i decided to blog about it...or in kaitlin's words, i decided to procrastinate haha...

so as we sit here at our laptops, i'm getting ready to study ahead for politics for once...a crazy thought i know....and i'm pondering the great mysteries of life. or at least my life. it's confusing. would you pray for me? that i'll have my focus on Jesus where it needs to be...and that i'll be willing to hand off the rest of it to Him where i need to. it's been a really tough day or two....lots to try to understand. and i need lots of prayer....He is my refuge...so i don't have to worry or be upset, but it's hard. so yep, i'd appreciate prayers. =)

and p.s. thanks for praying for me when i was hw-ing last post. it was cool to see that even though i didn't get like half of what i needed to done that afternoon, after people were praying the work that night went about twice as fast as i thought it would. =) it was great.

well probly enough procrastinating for the night. hope you're all enjoying your evening! ttyl

i'm in the library. and it's really nice and quiet and there's a great computer and internet and it's warm and my chair is comfy. it's great. but ah!!! hw!!! it does exist!!! and it's attacking me again. it was crazy sunday night. really crazy. and tonight's looking that way too! oh man, yay for finals being a long way off at least.
so i'm gonna head back and do some more hw. and if you ever wondered. 5:00 is the time to come to the library. i'm pretty sure everyone is at supper or something. you can have almost any computer you want haha. oh man. this hw stuff. it's silly. but i'm gonna go see what i can do with it.
so if you see this before 12 tonight will you pray for me. cuz i really want to go see my friends, but i really need to get this done a lot. so i'd appreciate prayers for motivation.

it was parent's and grandparent's weekend at school this weekend. it was fun to see all the gparents around. i liked it =D. twas a good weekend...really busy though and i have a big paper to finish tonight and a test to study for, so i'm gonna go. but here're a couple of my favorite pictures from the weekend. =)

we went to jill's parents' hotel and some of us went swimming and some of sat and watched and drank our hot chocolate and coffee and tea...fun times....notice the coordinated crossing of the legs haha =)

then we went upstairs and played uno and catch phrase and ate lots of food =D

well i had a lovely weekend at home for my birthday! my gma came down and visited and that was really nice to have her there! and jen and mel and jessica and ben and nathaniel and the rest of my family were there too, so that was really nice! we got to go to camp and just hang out and look around the afternoon of my bday. it was exciting, cuz i realized that growing up i had always thought it would be fun to be at camp on my birthday and now i got to =D. and i got to talk to maggie on the phone =). and tonight my mom brought me my new phone!!! (same number though...but i'm trying to find all my old numbers again, so could you email me yours if i had it before please?) it's been a good week. i got registered for classes today and got into all the ones i wanted! there were only about 4 openings left in the New Testament class that i wanted around 5 minutes before i was allowed to register, but i even made it into that one! so that was one of many exciting answers to prayer today! hope you all are having a great week! ttyl

once upon a time...
i went on fall break. and it was amazing. mel, jessica, ben and i left last wednesday. we stopped at my house for the first night, had a great homemade meal and some cupcakes! and just relaxed. twas great. then we left the next day and drove up to ben's house. it was wonderful! we had so many good homemade meals!!! it was great! we went shopping, went to a movie, visited ben's old school and his church and his grandparents, watched t.v. and movies at night, introduced mel and jessica to the red green show haha. hmm...and we went to a couple of parks and we went to lake michigan! it was so relaxing and fun. it was nice for the four of us to be able to just hang out together with no time pressure or homework, but to just relax. good times. very good times! it was gorgeous up there too! there were so many trees changing colors! it was so pretty!

jen had to go home to connecticut for break, but she was with us in spirit

we went to visit lake michigan at sunset. it was cold, but we had a blanket and lots of fun...probably one of my favorite memories of the trip, but there are so many good ones to choose from that i'm not sure.

and now we're going back home tonight. and taking jen with us in person this time! and my gma will be there. i'm excited...should be good times!

help! i have a 5 page paper(and it's double spaced so really it's not that bad) but i can't finish it! i'm stuck and i've been working on it all night! silly procrastination. i have learned. next time i start much earlier. i can't take more of this night-before-writing nonsense :) what silliness.
in other news my gma is coming this weekend for the ol bday. yay! and i'm going home and taking with mel and jessica and ben and jen! fun times.

chapel this morning was all worshiping with music. no sermon, just singing and praying. it was incredible! and we get to do it again tomorrow! i love the chapel's like that! God is so good and spending an hour praising Him is pretty amazing!

actually i'm ready for break now haha. but then i'll be allowed to leave. heading home for the night, and then up to GR with jessica and mel and ben the next day. i'm excited! definitely ready for a break!

i had a good picnic at the indian mounds yesterday with jen, ben, jess, and mel. it was fun! kinda cold, but fun. it's where our picnic idea originated. and we've been to john bryan a couple times and to the gorge, but this was our first picnic at the indian mounds. =D good times.

i got to walk home in rain drips today. it was really nice! it's so pretty here!

so i got to go home this weekend for a quiz. it was fun. relaxing to be at home, and good to see friends at quizzing again. i didn't really even know why i was going, cuz i definitely wasn't prepared to quiz study-wise, but i'm glad i went.

it's been a fun weekend. walmart tag, condiment games, catch phrase, a good jen walk,a maggie talk, dorm room hanging out, and quizzing. good times!

now comes the hw part. happy sunday!

i'm sitting in the library right now. i've been doing that a lot lately actually. it's kinda nice to get the hw done before 2am. go figure. and it's quiet here =). it's amazing how much easier it is to study without my bed sitting there begging me to come nap too. =)

so one more week of classes before fall break! craziness...it came so fast! i'm excited though!

hm...i think i'll finish this update later. i feel like i have more to say. but i can't think of it right now. so i'm gonna go look for a good book. any suggestions? something semi-deepish really. that i can learn from. but that won't be so deep that i can't figure out what's going on. i'm kinda feeling like some C.S. life confuses me. a lot sometimes.
and the weather here is pretty much perfect today!
and this weekend i celebrated timothy's birthday and got to hang out at camp with melanie!
and we celebrated jessica's bday on monday and got to go to colonials!
and i spent 2 or 3 hours in the library today. still lots more to study, but that helped a lot.
and i'm going to read part of winesburg, OH for lit class. it was written about clyde, OH. so i'm kinda excited.

today i: sat by the lake with my friends while we took personality tests and watched cardboard canoe races. had outing time with ben and a coffee date with jen. and i got to have a date with jessica and got to watch the play too, but that was last night and not today, don't tell ;). went to kaitlin and matt and bethany and lisa and whitney and katie's concert. played with condiments hehe. had my last class canceled. twas a good day!

my friend cos's cousin Christine came to visit him today. she's staying in my room tonight! it's perfect cuz the roomie went home for the weekend to go hunting so now i'm not alone(yep haha. betcha not many girls out there who can say their roommate goes hunting! i'm so proud of her =D) and it was nice cuz Christine and i got to talk for awhile tonight after we headed to bed, and i haven't gotten to have good nighttimeish talking since last year with lisa. so it was really fun. she's a cool kid. and kim and i had a roomie date this week. it was good. we're talking a lot more now than we did at the beginning of the year so that's pretty happy stuff.

and there was lots going on in life this week. lots that Jesus is teaching me too. and i'd love to talk all about stuff like that, but i tend to find really completely off the wall things really interesting when i get this tired, so i think i'm going to head to bed and if it's important i should still remember tomorrow haha. happy weekend everybody! love you!

and other stuff. but that was a big accomplishment in my life today haha.
i wrote a skit for theatre. about senior skip day in iowa when i went to school and all that crazy stuff happened...like the starburst thing.

we lost power tonight at least twice. it was pretty fun. i'm kinda easily entertained. =D

yesterday i had a date with my gma on im. i'm pretty sure i don't know anyone else who gets to email their gma and ask for an msn date haha. but they'd be missing out, cuz it was pretty fun! i learned lots of cool stuff about her...i like her a lot :)

i got to watch nathaniel play bball last night! that made me pretty happy...i haven't gotten to do that very often since high school. it was fun!

had another Bible study last night. our chapter this week was on the attributes of God and it was really exciting; lots of good reminders of how amazing God is!!! i learned a lot from the girls, and it seems like we're already starting to bond really well! it's been good! i got to have supper with Ivey, the girl who leads my other study, yesterday too! she's so encouraging and such a great example! i'm looking forward to getting to know all of them better this year!

well, off to naptime(i hope =P) before my last sand vball game.

hello all out there in the blog world. welcome to my mind. i was thinking the other day, and i realized that most of the people who read my xanga anymore are people who don't have one of their own. so i decided i'd rather have a blog where you can all talk back at me if you want to instead of just reading it. so here it is. my blog. works the same as xanga in a lot of ways, only you can comment on here now too. even if you don't have a blog. so yep, here it is. =) and just for fun i figured i could include my last xanga post too. here it is....

a week in the life of me: last week i...had another picnic with mel and jessica and ben and jen! fun times hiking in the gorge! it's so pretty here! we drive down these roads that are surrounded by trees on both sides and theyre so green and pretty...and then some spots have leaves that are starting to change, and that's so pretty too!;had some really good walks and talks with friends! Jesus has given me great friends! i love them!;had bfast and played monkey tag with the friends and BOTH brothers cuz timothy spent the weekend at school.; saw my family and talked to them for awhile ; got to have lunch with the adopted family ; got to work with the middle school at midtown (my saturday church) again!;played sand vball and even won one of the three games-fun times!found out that i get to accompany jessica, mel, and cos to ben's house for fall break! and stop at my house for a night too;had more good times with my bible study girls; eloped with a tatoo artist from yellow springs (k so obviously not really, but i figured you deserved some excitement if you're still reading at this point); discovered why i love vecinno's and beans and cream. even the non coffee varieties;walked to beans and cream in the rain with my friends! i love playing in the rain with people i love!;had two classes cancelled today!;got new contacts;ran out of whales haha;

i also broke my phone. this is an important one actually. cuz i won't be answering my cell for awhile. i was talking to mel on saturday and i dropped my phone and picked it up in two separate pieces. the bottom half still worked and i could call people and talk to them and feel it vibrate when they called me haha. but i couldnt see anything on the screen and i couldnt hear anyone when they called me haha cuz those are in the top part of the phone. so long story short, unless one of my friends finds an old verizon phone that i can use, i'll get a new one in December, until then you can email me/ call a friend or family member to get my room phone here.well you made it through another uber-long update into the life of elizabeth. hope you're all having a great week! love ya! ~e
